Overview
A website for a creative studio with one job: turn a visitor into an enquiry. The visual design was provided, so my part was to build it faithfully and make it work on every screen. It has not launched yet, so it is not named here.
My role: sole developer, end to end, and still maintaining it.
Approach
- The design, built faithfully: colours, typography and layout come from the supplied design, so the rendered site matches it from the first day
- Checked on real devices: layout variations of that design are reviewed on phones and laptops through private previews
- Launch safeguards: the build refuses to publish the site until it is ready, so nothing unfinished reaches visitors
- Static and lightweight: no accounts and no database, which keeps the site fast, secure and inexpensive to run
Engineering practice
- Automated checks on every change: layout on small screens against the WCAG reflow requirement, and consistent use of the design system
- Continuous integration through GitHub Actions
